CKC Board members met at The Library Company of Philadelphia on September 9, 2017 to create a strategic plan for CKC for the next two years.

We are excited about our progress toward finalizing the CKC’s Nomenclature for publication in 2018 — see the “In Progress” summary below. CKC’s website will be updated soon, and we will ramp up our social media presence and enhance benefits and volunteer opportunities for CKC’s members.

Most important — we crafted a practical, affordable approach to realizing our goal of creating an online collection. We hope you will join us at Vogue Knitting LIVE in New York in January 2018, where you can “test drive” the prototype for our forthcoming collections database — an amazing resource that will give you access to hidden collections of knitting and crochet!

We were thrilled that Karen D. Kendrick-Hands, CKC’s Founder and chief donor, was able to attend the strategic planning meeting. We thank Karen and her husband Larry Hands for their continued enthusiasm and support for CKC. Phyllis Bell Miller, one of CKC’s newest Board members, was traveling internationally in September, so was unable to join us, but please see her profile below!

CKC thanks The Library Company of Philadelphia for the use of a beautiful conference room in the Cassatt House. We also thank current and former Board members for donating their time and expenses to attend this strategic planning meeting. Callie Lasch, an independent filmmaker, captured footage from the meeting and conducted interviews of Board members so we can share CKC’s mission and accomplishments more effectively with members and the public in the future.
