Sanquhar Gloves: A Living Scottish Tradition truly delivers on CKC’s promise to preserve and promote the art, craft, and scholarship of knitting, crochet, and related arts in the form of a thoughtful and imaginative resource on a locally-developed, yet internationally influential style of knitting.  Sanquhar Gloves provides online visitors with dazzling images that bring the patterns, history, materials, and techniques of Sanquhar knitting into focus. The exhibition reflects current scholarship while linking to notable collections and providing fresh interpretations of this traditional style of knitting from contemporary artists and designers. A bibliography of source materials is also available to inspire and sustain a self-paced process of discovery.

Thank you to the curators, board members, and volunteers for donating time and expertise to realize this inaugural exhibition.   We hope you will find it a source of enlightenment and inspiration. Please consider supporting future endeavors such as this through membership, donations, or as a volunteer.
